Really, Trestles Again?
While the WSL continues to pimp this venue as a "fair playing field", a "great event for surfing" and points out that it's a "high...
PIPELINE SYNOPSIS:
Combination of steadily fading WNW shifting NW swell and increasing fresh NW-NNW swell continuing to provide some SOLID surf to the North Shore with favorable ENE wind conditions on tap this morning. Wave heights are down a bit from yesterday now hovering in the head high to overhead high range with sets still hitting the well overhead to double overhead high mark at locations that favor the NW-NNW swell angle. The multiple swells in the water will help with surf consistency but also create slightly crossed-up conditions, pick and choose wisely before paddling out today. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

The Power Number is the total of all heat scores for each competitor from the most recent WCT events in this location (excluding the elimination rounds). When available 3 years of data is used with the most recent year being counted 100% and the prior two years 67% and 33%, respectively to give a greater weight to more recent results.
This stat not only encompasses the importance of heat scores for each surfer, but reflects their results as the further a surfer advances in the event the more heat scores are added to the total. Power Rankings DO NOT take into account the momentum of the surfers performance in the current year, but aims to reveal the surfers consistency over a three year period at a particular break.
Some new WCT surfers will only have one or two years of historical data and may be under represented. Rookies on tour will not be represented as they do not yet have historical data.
